One Punch Man is Getting a New Multiplayer Online Game!

Anime fans, rejoice! The One Punch Man video game market expands by one with a new game called One Punch Man: World. This free-to-play multiplayer action game will be available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, and the Nordics, the company announced. The game will be developed by Perfect World Games subsidiary T3 Studio and published by Crunchy Roll Games. It’ll be available on PC, iOS, and Android in 2023. If you’d like to pre-register you can do so here!

A snippet describing the game reads, “Heroes are needed in One Punch Man: World! A sinister wave of monster attacks has left the world and Hero Association under duress. However, after three years of special training, Saitama has become so powerful that he can defeat opponents with a single punch. The thing is, Saitama just does the hero thing for fun, but when every enemy goes down in one punch, overwhelming power can be kind of... boring. Now, in front of the laid-back strongest hero, a new enemy appears. Will he be able to show his full power today?”

The site for the game doesn’t give much away in terms of gameplay but it looks like we are getting at least seven characters from the show including Saitama. The others are Genos, Speed-O-Sound Sonic, Mumen Rider, Puri-Puri Prisoner, Atomic Samurai, Golden Ball, and Lightning Max and players will get to unlock these characters as they progress. The game is set within Z-City and is based on the events from the first season of the anime -even expanding on them at times through side quests! Gameplay will be more focused on real-time combat instead of turn or card-based which is more common for mobile, this choice makes the gameplay more involved and better suited to entertain the PC players as well. The multiplayer aspect will include the ability to meet up with friends to raid other destructive foes and other players!

This may not be the first One Punch Man game to exist, but let’s hope it will be better received. ONE PUNCH MAN: A HERO NOBODY KNOWS launched on Steam in 2020 and is currently sitting at 51.98% Mixed. Complaints about loading and performance seem to be common as well as players having an issue with how little gameplay there actually is. Let’s hope Crunchy Roll and T3 can bring One Punch Man to the players in a more favorable manner!

Have you seen One Punch Man? Are you excited for the game? Let me know!

Not sure what I think about that, kinda looks like it would make more sense as a single player game, but yah, I'll try it when it releases. If they really want to go MMO route tho, they should let us create our own heroes, and work up through the ranks to eventually fight beside the S Class in some crazy battles.

That's a cool take! I agree it would be fun to play alongside them as our own character!

LOL.. What they said.

I'm interested in how this will be multiplayer.  I miss the old days of City of Heroes.
