Devil May Cry 5 Will Have Microtransactions

Recently a new trailer for Devil May Cry 5 came out to a great response. In the time that followed its release people who’ve tried out the demo so far discovered something. The game will feature Divinity Statues which will act as a shop for upgrades. Though the shop will require actual money, which means microtransactions will be in the game.

Hideaki Itsuno, director of Devil May Cry 5 recently sat down with Gamespot to discuss how flexible the upgrades will work in the game.

“If they want to save time and just want to get all the stuff at once, those people can do that. But on the other hand I don’t feel you have to get all the moves, ” Itsuno told Gamespot. “You should be able to play it the way you want to play it.”

Though this appears to be generous from Capcom, it can be a let down to some. While you can still advance and finish the game without upgrades, you can’t earn them either through rewards in the game. The upgrades seem to appear unnecessary while at the same time exclusive to those who put in extra money to unlocking everything in the game.
