Weekly and monthly PUBG updates are suspended due to quality preservation
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds for months resides on Steam Early Access, and their current state justifies with a tight schedule of patch releases. They`re releasing weekly patches to keep things in place and monthly to make some bigger changes to the game. The development team has so far managed to keep up with the set plan, however, it seems that such a schedule has become to tiresome to respect.
Namely, Bluehole believes that with frequent updates they`re damaging game`s high quality standards. Simply said, the pressure to comply with a given deadline leads to rush that causes more problems than it can solve, which ultimately leads to quality impairment. Developers claim that the full version of the game will not be postponed due to this change and will be available in the fourth quarter of this year as planned.
In addition, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been sold in more than seven million copies in less than five months, collecting more than 600 thousand players in one day and with that figure managed to overcame CS: GO.
Finally, designer Brendan Greene has revealed that he will come to Gamescom where he will talk about how from a regular mode designer he became the creative director of one of the most popular video games on PC. The show will be called "My Journey" and will be held on 23 August at 14:00 (UTC+1).
